Mr. Vander Maten
My name is Wade Vander Maten. I have been teaching 4th grade for 6 years. I coach boys basketball and girls track. I live in Rock Valley with my wife and two daughters. I enjoy playing outside with my girls and traveling. My hobbies include running, golf and playing basketball.
I graduated from high school from Boyden-Hull CSD. I received my elementary education degree from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. Then I pursued my masters degree from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa.
I grew up on a farm near Boyden, Iowa. I currently live in Rock Valley, Iowa.
This is my 10th year teaching. I love teaching 4th grade. I enjoy challenging kids and helping them learn. My class will have a lot of students moving around, working together and having a fun. I really enjoy teaching math and reading. One of my favorite parts of teaching is reading aloud some of my favorite books to my class.
